On Friday, September 30, and Saturday, October 1;
AM 560 WIND and ChampionNews.net are proud to bring together Tea Party activists, conservatives, and like-minded citizens from around the Midwest for a unique event that will seek to educate, inspire, and activate. We’re calling it TeaCon 2011, and we’ll be partnering with Tea Party groups from Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota, and Missouri to equip and motivate activists and voters for the upcoming election season.
TeaCon 2011 will be held at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center and will kick-off Friday evening with a welcome reception. Saturday will feature a breakfast general session, followed by three hours of break-out sessions, focused on specific topics and issues, to train and educate attendees.
There will then be a lunch general session, followed by our Presidential candidates forum. We are inviting all of the declared GOP presidential candidates to appear in 20-minute increments with our moderator to answer questions and talk about their respective campaigns. At the conclusion, we’ll be conducting a straw poll.
The event will be capped off by a special dinner, with featured speaker, Glenn Beck. At the dinner, we’ll be announcing the results of our straw poll, and Glenn will address the attendees. Glenn will offer up his vision for how they should approach the 2012 election cycle.

Tea party convention to be held in Schaumburg
Staff report
3:26 PM CDT, September 19, 2011
Former FOX television commentator Glenn Beck will be among the headliners later this month when tea party supporters gather in Illinois to hold the Midwest Tea Party convention in Schaumburg, officials announced today.
The event, dubbed TeaCon 2011, will also play host to Andrew Breitbart and others on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the Schaumburg Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center, 1551 N. Thoreau Dr., officials said.
“While Glenn Beck is no longer on Fox, you’ll have a chance to see him live and in person at TeaCon,” Chicago Tea Party Director Steve Stevlic said in a statement. “The venue will allow people to get more up close and personal with Glenn.”
The convention is sponsored by the Chicago Tea Party, AM 560 WIND radio, the Illinois Tea Party and ChampionNews.net, officials said.
“TeaCon is designed by grassroots tea party groups for grassroots tea party members. Every session is designed for regular people who want to make a difference in the 2012 election. They’re going to leave with the knowledge, tools and skills to do just that,” said Stevlic.
Supporters will be able to attend educational sessions designed to train tea party activists.
Among the sessions available, the “Citizen Track” will focus on helping activists become better informed on policy issues. The “Patriot Track” will focus on helping people become more effective activists. The “Leadership Track” which is designed for organizers and leaders of the tea party movement, will focus on helping people become more effective leaders, organizers said.
A presidential straw poll will be held to measure support for the GOP candidates who are running to challenge President Obama in 2012, officials said.
“This straw poll will clearly show who has made the best impression on top tea party organizers and activists from across the Midwest,” said Stevlic. “These activists are the opinion leaders in their networks and organizations. Tea party support will be a critical part to securing the nomination.”
In addition to Beck and Breitbart, other featured guests will include radio talk show host and CNN contributor Dana Loesch, comedian and commentator Steven Crowder and Townhall.com political editor Guy Benson.
